I love you, Neil Gaiman
I love you for writing Sherlock Holmes slash fanfiction in the world of H.P. Lovecraft. I mean, I really do.
Answerboy's parents pleasantly surprised the heck out of me by getting me Fragile Things for Christmas. There was an audible intake of breath as I opened the parcel. (Baby, you had something to do with this, right??) The first story seems to be a retelling of Study in Scarlet, with Cthulu-esque things as the Royal family. This is a degree of awesome I am powerless to express.
Christmas has been great -- minimal depression, which is different for me. I think I do well at being home for short bursts of time. My mom said that she thinks I'm an angel, yesterday, which was odd even for her, but not unpleasant. A cousin came over for Christmas dinner yesterday, which added to the normal complement of me-mom-dad-uncle, and was very nice. We drank pomegranate martinis and played some board games. Can't complain. I got very nice presents too, from jewelry to kitchen stuff to clothes and gift cards.
Now I need to organize the rest of my week so I see everyone I need to see and do everything I need to do. Christmas vacation...you're too damn short.
Hope all readers had a merry Christmas, if celebrated, and if not, a nice day anyway. :)
